Services
From preventative care to tooth replacement: we offer the entire range of modern dentistry services to keep your teeth healthy and beautiful throughout your life.
Emergency Treatment
The practice firmly believes in providing effective solutions immediately to treat dental issues for all of our patients . Early treatment of dental problems can prevent minor issues progressing into more complex and costly situations arising. Significant time is allocated every day for emergency treatment, within normal surgery hours.
Root canal treatment
Root treatment of teeth that have died enables patients to retain their teeth rather than suffer from dental extractions. Careful anaesthesia is used to make the procedure comfortable and , using the latest rotary equipment and bioceramic materials , often teeth can be managed in a single visit .
Dental Implants
Implants are an increasingly popular method of replacing missing teeth. We can now replace failed teeth without having to resort to dentures or bridges (which generally involves electively damaging the adjacent teeth).
A titanium post is placed in the jaw bone to support a replacement tooth and this acts like the root of a natural tooth. Implant treatment commonly has two stages. First, the implant is placed in the jaw. When the jaw has healed and the implant integrated, replacement teeth are attached to the implant.
Implants can also be used to support fixed bridges or dentures.
Tooth Whitening
Tooth whitening is the most non-invasive method of brightening your smile. It involves using peroxide containing whitening gels in a custom made, soft mouthguard. The mouthguard loaded with the gel is usually worn over night.
This is one of the gentlest and longest lasting methods of whitening.
Please note: Only dentists can legally carry out tooth whitening procedures.
Tooth Coloured Fillings
Many people have fillings of one sort or another in their mouths.
Nowadays fillings are not only functional, but can be natural looking as well. Many people don't want silver fillings that show when they laugh or smile.
Tooth-coloured fillings can be used as metal free alternatives in restoring minimally decayed teeth.
Porcelain Veneers/Smile Design
A veneer is a thin layer of porcelain made to fit over the front surface of a tooth, like a false fingernail fits over a nail.
Veneers can improve the colour, shape and position of your teeth. A precise shade of porcelain can be chosen to give the right colour to improve a discoloured tooth/teeth. A veneer can make a chipped tooth look intact again. The porcelain covers the whole of the front of the tooth with a thicker section replacing the broken part. Veneers can also be used to close small gaps, when orthodontics (braces) are not suitable. If one tooth is slightly out of position, a veneer can sometimes be fitted to bring it into line with the others.
Veneers make teeth look natural and healthy. Because they are very thin and are held in place by a special strong bond (rather like super-glue) very little preparation of the tooth is needed. Smile Makeovers are generally carried out with veneers.
Domiciliary / Home visits
In certain situations treatment can be carried out in patients homes. Please ask for details.
Hygienist Services
Our experienced hygienists work under direct access and are happy to carry out hygiene without the need to see a dentist first. They offer air polishing and scaling under various forms of anaesthesia from ordinary local anaesthetic to surface anaesthesia and Oraqix.
We work closely to manage a large cohort of patients with ongoing gum disease and continue to work closely with them to maintain clean and healthy mouths to help them to retain their teeth .
Crown and bridgework
Compromised teeth and heavily restored teeth can be stabilised with aesthetic crowns and inlays which make teeth look natural while providing strength for reliable function . Similarly , in certain situations where replacing missing teeth with implants is not possible or desirable the adjacent teeth can be used to support bridges to restore function and appearance . Adhesive materials are used to bond inlays , crown or bridges onto the underlying teeth to ensure that as little tooth tissue as possible is removed in the process.
Dentures
Patients who have lost teeth can have removable appliances fitted accurately to replace these teeth . Dentures can be supported by the patient’s own teeth or implants as well as the remaining soft tissues.
